Day off

Today was our day off. Finally after whole week!

After brainstorming with Minh we decided to go to Panfilov Park and than we'd see. Maybe amusement park. Well we made it happened :-) Firstly we got lost due to our orientation sense, but than we've found it! 

This park is named for the Panfilov Heroes, commemorated at the fearsome war memorial east of the cathedral. This represents the 28 soldiers of Almaty, who died fighting off Nazi tanks in a village outside Moscow in 1941.

Our journey started with delicious KFC lunch, continue with sightseeing in Panfilov park. Thought feeding pigeons, making pictures in front of of the giant black monument of soldiers from all 15 Soviet republics or in a park between trees, where are taking part so many weddings. Not to forget about candy-coloured Zenkov Cathedral. Beautiful orthodox church, which is built entirely from wood!

But not to finish this park without visiting Museum of musical instruments. Mainly traditional instrument Dombra. Looks like a guitar, but only with two strings. And there was also Czech instrument. Do you know, which is it?

Anyway later on, we've continued to Gorky Park or Almaty Central Park. It's an amusement park in Almaty. It's hard to compare it with Prater :-D It's quite small, but very beautiful and created for having fun time. Attractions are a little bit smaller, but also cheaper. We've decided to go to the boat on the small river in the middle of the park. So much fun! 

And to make our day even better, we took metro home, our friends cooked for us - very common meal - rice with carrots and beef. So delicious! And they made also shisha for us and we had nice talk. And also, not to forget! We've moved to the new apartment! So beautiful and cosy..
