Today is
the first day of my Kazakhstan
adventure. I’m looking forward to it and I’m curious how does it going to be!
I’ve successfully gotten my visa and passport, I’ve packed myself with all my
promotion materials and gifts and went to air port.

I’ve caught my plane, where I’ve met very symphatetic mountain climbers, who have made me company in Istanbul until their plane
is taking off and I’ve prepared some games for the first meeting with my group.
Well, we will see, how does it going to be. At least – right now, in Istanbul –
it’s very hoooot!!

Well, as
I’ve arrived there was Aigul waiting for me, picking me up. I wasn’t so warm at
all! I was surprised. She took me to the apartment
to other trainees and place, where I’m going to stay. The journey was very
nice! The first time of seeing mountains
from Alamaty! Anyway, the place, where I stay is a small apartment, whose
owner is right now not here. It has kitchen, toilet, bathroom, two rooms and
living room-. The rooms are smaller, but it doesn’t seem as a big problem for
us. After my arrival all trainee were
very nice to me and there was also one local, who supposed to help us with
everything. We’ve chatted a little until the program started.

Anyway, as
a life is changing, my schedule too. I was supposed to teach adults leadership,
but I went to teach children, around 10
years old, English in the morning and in the afternoon I went to adults to
teach them leadership. I’ve arrived on 5 AM local time (1AM in Czech Republic)
and I stayed awake until 9:30, until we went to the school with Brendan
(trainee). We’ve travelled by taxi, which was also interesting first experience
with this kind of public transport.

As I’ve
came, they have told me that I can do whatever I want with children and that
it’s not so hard. Well, it was really different form teaching adults! Kids were
so noisy, they couldn’t pay attention and I couldn’t attract them very much. Otherwise
they were very nice. I’ve taken lessons for
three times for 50 minutes. First
two were really great, but the last one was really mess – total anarchy :-D
Well, hopefully it’s only today. I’ve never thought, that it’s so hard to work
with children!
Anyway I
was getting a lunch, which has calmed me down a little bit and we’ve travelled home. Not so far means 15
minutes walking, 25 minutes in the bus and then a little walk again. Close,
right? Anyway we’ve managed local bus and went home. In the afternoon I went to
the classes for adults about leadership.
They’ve told me not to worry, that someone will explain me the rules and
everything. Well, I’ve experienced them! Ema (trainee) took this class. They
played dome team game and some fun game, so it was really nice spend time.
